Roman Hall a 17 year old young man from Florida who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and has already been the recipient of a double lung transplant, is gravely ill in the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
This past Sunday, March 15, 2015, Roman was awaiting an appointment with the doctors but then had to be rushed to hospital with chest pains and subsequently fell into an unconscious state.
The medical team discovered very high CO2 levels and after a battery of tests on Monday, March 16, gave Roman’s parents the news that he had 24 hours to live because of infection and rejection of his lungs.
After the administration of pain relief and other medicines, Roman has managed to remain alive, but because of the complications from infection and his previous surgeries doctors are reluctant to intervene further and perform another double lung transplant which is the only way he can be saved.
Do nothing and Roman will certainly die soon, intervention with a lung transplant gives him the fighting chance he deserves after his demonstrated will to live even now four days after the doctors gave him 24 hours!
His parents are desperate and are in contact with individuals at the National Institutes of Health who have been reviewing his case. They have already lost one daughter to cystic fibrosis, and are dreading the prospect of losing Roman.
His family is asking everyone to reach out to publicize this event on their social networks so that a facility and team of doctors will find it within themselves to perform the life-saving surgery Roman needs.
