This aircraft crashed in the jungle at night with Capt. Gerry Gouveia at the controls. Amazingly Gouveia escaped without serious injury.
I was involved in the SAR for this Aircraft and Found the location of the ELT signal in the Jungle the night it disappeared with an Islander. I Got a team of GDF Soldiers from Timehri including myself and Capt Frankie Veira and walked thru the Jungle at night to the Crash site. Luckily the pilot Capt Gerry Gouveia was alive but a bit bloodied and shaken. We cleared a helipad and airlifted him by helicopter..the operation was completed in one day.
