It was January 06, 1930 when the first Pan-Am amphibian aircraft landed on the Demerara River linking Miami, USA with Georgetown, Guyana by air.

Also on that day Donald Bradman (who later became Sir Donald Bradman) in the Sheffield Shield Series scored 452 not out for NSW (New South Wales) against Queensland at Sydney. His score took 415 minutes with 49 fours

50 years later on January 06, 1980 Pan-Am celebrated 50 years of service to Guyana.
