Palestine and Guyana Establish Diplomatic Relations

The State of Palestine and the Republic of Guyana last night signed a joint statement establishing bilateral diplomatic ties.

Palestinian Permanent Observer to the United Nations Riyadh Mansour and his the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Guyana to the UN George Talbot sealed the deal.


The State of Palestine and the Republic of Guyana last night signed a joint statement establishing bilateral diplomatic ties.

Palestinian Permanent Observer to the United Nations Riyadh Mansour and his the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Guyana to the UN George Talbot sealed the deal.

The Republic of Guyana thus becomes the first state from the Caribbean Community and Common Market (Caricom) to establish diplomatic ties with the State of Palestine. The Republic of Guyana recognized the State of Palestine in 1988.

The Republic of Guyana includes Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Montserrat, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Toba.
