Dropati Lucille Singh, 96 of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Tuesday March 28, 2023 peacefully at home. Born on April 12, 1926 in La Jalousie, Guyana to Baldeo and Sohodree Singh.
At the age of 16, she met and married her Late husband, Dindyal Singh. Together, they owned their own business and raised 11 children. Lucille came to America in 1977, settling first in Fords Township, New Jersey before making Old Bridge her home for more than 45 years.
Lucille was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her seven children, Beni, of San Diego, CA, Laleeta, of Old Bridge, Chet of Ocoee FL, Indira, of Oviedo, FL, Ranjit, of Sidney Center NY, Jeannie of Old Bridge, and Michael of Hawley, PA.
She was predeceased by a daughter Patricia, a daughter, Pavitri, her two sons Tej Bahadur And Suruj Doodnauth. Sister of the late Boodhu, Laek, Lall, Barbara, Doreen; and Joe Singh of the UK. Mother-In-Law of Jean (Lloyd); June Singh; Compton Persaud; Fanesza (Khan); Nalini Singh, Bernadette Williams and William Schuster. Grand Mother of Dr. Hetram Singh, Savita Campatella, Sharon Singh, Mala Persaud, Sunita Corcoran, Rene Persaud, CP Persaud; Sabrina and Darren Fitzgerald; Sophia DaSilva, Gibran and Anis Singh; Kristie and Justin Schuster; Viren and Kiran Singh; Bennard Singh. 19 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
Lucille was a talented cook and baker, bringing joy to her children, friends, neighbors and even Medical Care Staff with her home-style Guyanese cooking. She loved to have company and to visit Atlantic City in the years after her Husband’s passing and made many friends there. At home, when not cooking and telling stories of her life in Guyana, she loved gardening, word searches, 1970s game shows and took great comfort in her religious faith.

Visitation will be held March 29, 2023 at the Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 Route 516 in Old Bridge from 7 to 9 PM.
Private Hindu Funeral services will be held on March 30, 2023 followed by cremation service at Liberty Grove Crematorium, Old Bridge
