Guyana Graphic reported on January 29, 2014 about Queens College alumnae Walt Knupp and his wife Nancy who suffered a fire at their home in West Virginia, USA.
The fire resulted in the loss of all their possessions and both Walt and his wife Nancy were injured. It was announced on February 11 that Nancy had succumbed to her injuries.
In honor of Nancy's wishes, she was cremated and a memorial service will be held to commemorate her life at Fayetteville Baptist Church, Fayetteville, W.Va., on Saturday, Feb. 15. Friends and family may gather for visitation from noon to 2 p.m. to acknowledge and celebrate the life of Mrs. Knupp. The funeral service will begin afterward at 2 p.m.
To recognize her love for animals and helping others, Nancy's wish would be to please make a donation to a local animal shelter or the Gideon Ministry, in lieu of flowers. Any small act of kindness or helpful gesture in the local community is all that Nancy would have wanted in her remembrance. She will be dearly missed by so many.
The staff at Guyana Graphic extends their sincere sympathies to Walt and his family at this sad time. One of the Knupps' friends has set up a site if you would like to make a donation.
