Jeane Audrey Thom (nee Went), passed away on March 5, 2013 at Laurel Regional Hospital, Laurel Maryland, USA after a brief illness.
She was born on July 14, 1950 in Georgetown, Guyana to the late John and Ordelia Went. She completed her elementary and secondary education in Guyana before migrating to Montreal Canada in 1969. She earned her nursing diploma at Dawson College in 1976 and joined Sir Mortimer B. Davis Memorial Hospital, Montreal as an registered nurse (RN) in the post op department until 1989.

She then relocated to Toronto and was employed at Scarborough General Hospital as an RN from 1989-1991 in the Psychiatric Department. In August 1989 she met James T. Thom, Jr., and they developed a relationship which led to their marriage on June 30, 1990. Jeane later migrated to the USA to join James in Beltsville, Maryland where she continued her nursing career at Brentwood Adult Care Center, Brentwood Maryland as RN and Center Director until 2012.
Anyone who met Jeane was attracted by her quiet, warm and charming personality and impressed by her excellent organizational and interior decorating skills. She had a keen eye for beauty and loved travelling.
Jeane is survived by her loving husband James (Jimmy T), brothers Vibart, John and Phillip Went; sisters Beryl Jackson, Olga and Patricia Went and Desiree Cameron; sisters-in-law Dorothy, Ruth and Shirley Went, Janice Thom-Collins, Hazel Creppy and Helen Finney; brothers-in-law Maurice Jackson, Ralph Cameron, Joe Finney and Raymond Thom; stepchildren Suzette Thom, James Thom, III, Jonelle Thom and Janice Grate-Thom, and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
